Who we are
This site is the personal website of Cameron McAinsh, based in Italy. Its address is cameronmcainsh.com. Contact: mcainsh.cameron@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Comments — disabled site-wide. No comment data is collected.
- Embedded video — articles may embed video from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no tracking cookies unless you start playback. If you press play, YouTube may collect data under its own policy.
- Server logs — the hosting provider (Hostinger) records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, for security and operation. Legal basis: legitimate interest, GDPR Art. 6(1)(f).
- Cookies — no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies are set. The only cookies are functional WordPress cookies, and only if you log in as an administrator.
- Fonts — the typefaces are served from this site’s own server. Loading a page does not contact Google Fonts or any other third-party font service.
Third-party services
Embedded YouTube content is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com to minimise data transfer to Google. Google’s privacy policy governs any data collected once a video is played: policies.google.com/privacy. This site uses no analytics platform, advertising network, or social media tracking pixel.
Your rights under the GDPR
You have the right to access your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request erasure, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in Italy, the Garante per la Protezione dei Dati Personali.
To exercise any of these rights, email mcainsh.cameron@gmail.com. Requests are answered within 30 days.
Retention and security
Personal data is retained only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. The site is served exclusively over HTTPS, and administrative access is restricted to the site owner using application-specific credentials.
Changes
This page is updated when data practices change — for example if a newsletter or analytics is introduced — and the date above is revised accordingly.
